On August 17th, we will as usual be entering a Riley Club Stand at Dalemain, which is close by Ulswater in the Lake District. I have organised this event for the past 10 years, during which we have attracted a selection of Rileys from all three clubs. It’s a family event, so owners, partners, children & dogs are all welcome. Unfortunately, due to house movements, car sales, illness, and the odd member falling off their perch, I am struggling to find sufficient entries this year. The London to Edinburgh Run has also taken up a lot of time, so reducing recruitment. Given that so may people on the L2E said how much they enjoyed this part of our country when we briefly passed through, I wondered if they or any other Riley Owners would welcome a quick return, or an initial visit.
The site is easily accessible, usually attracts around 700 vehicles, and is sited in the grounds of a large mansion house. The club funds the event, so there is no cost to the participants other than their fuel to get there.
If there is any interest, I can be contacted on 07771978752 or norman.hamer15@gmail.com, and can provide further details if required. You do require a pass to be admitted to the event, so I do need to know if anyone plans to join us; everyone is most welcome, as long as you have a Riley badge on the car.
Regards, Norman.
