National Rally 2018 & AGM

Bowden Hall Hotel, Bondend Lane,
Upton St Leonards, Gloucester. GL4 8ED
7th to 9th September 2018

This year, the West of England Centre will host the Rally and welcomes all Club members
to the Mercure Gloucester Bowden Hall Hotel at Upton St. Leonards, Gloucestershire,
on the western edge of the Cotswolds. Bowden Hall is a Grade 2-listed Regency manor house
built in 1770 and sympathetically restored during a major refurbishment in 1991.

It still maintains most of its original woodwork in the reception area,
along with stained glass windows designed by William Morris in the reception area
and in the Lakeside Function Suite. One of the previous owners of Bowden Hall
was Major Dearman Birchall, a cotton merchant and a Major in the Gloucester Hussars.
The Dearman Restaurant is now named after him. Before 1968, Bowden Hall was used as a
remand school for girls. Rumour has it that they were very ‘naughty’ girls and that many
a postman was in fear of his life when delivering mail!
Since 1968, Bowden Hall has been a hotel.

There is a wonderful vista over the valley from the hotel lounge.
Many of the trees in the grounds of Bowden Hall are over 200 years old.

The Club will have exclusive use of the Lakeside Function Suite,
with areas for Rally HQ, informal meetings, coffee, merchandise and spares.
The National Rally Dinner on the Saturday evening (please see menu)
will be held in the balcony area, which has disabled access.
Parking exclusively for the Club has been arranged, along with a
‘photoshoot’ in front of Reception and/or infront of the hotel.

As last year, to encourage early registration,
everyone who returns their Rally Entry Form and Entry Fee BEFORE
MAY 31st will be entered into a special ‘Early Bird’ Draw for £25 of Spares either from
Riley Motor Club Spares Ltd or from Blue Diamond Riley Services Ltd.

As in previous years, please make bookings for Rally hotel accommodation
separately from your Rally Entry.
To book accommodation at Mercure Gloucester Bowden Hall, please phone the booking agency,
Sundial Group, on 0345 0341505 or 0845 0341505 and mention ‘Riley Motor Club’ –
please do not attempt to book with Bowden Hall direct. Disabled rooms and dog-friendly rooms
are also available; there is a small extra charge for the dog-friendly rooms.
